The American Dream Reflected

Created in graphite on 350g Canson paper, this work is a journey into the aesthetics that defined an era. The 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air is not just metal: it is the icon of post-war optimism, the roar of Rockabilly culture, and the spirit of the open road.

I chose a vertical crop to focus the gaze on its proudest "face": the massive curves of the bumper and the round headlight that seems to look straight into the future. The technical challenge was translating the language of color into the rigor of graphite; the density of the pencil is carefully studied to convey the depth of the bodywork and the cold brilliance of the chrome.

If you look closely at the reflections on the bumper, you will discover a distorted world: tiny human figures and fragments of scenery trapped in the metal—silent witnesses of an America that never ceases to fascinate. It is a tribute to the American Dream, where industrial design became art.

Shipping of original artworks

Original artworks on paper are protected by light tissue paper on both sides. We aim to ship these flat whenever possible; depending on their size, they are packed and protected in rigid cardboard boxes or carefully rolled in sturdy tubes.
Artworks on canvas can be shipped flat with their wooden frame, reinforced at the corners and protected by thick cardboard on both sides. For larger dimensions (or at the customer's discretion), the canvas is removed from its stretcher bars and shipped in a heavy-duty cardboard tube to optimize both shipping costs and logistics.
