Description
The 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air is not just metal: it is the icon of post-war optimism, the roar of Rockabilly culture, and the spirit of the open road. I chose a vertical crop to focus the gaze on its proudest "face": the massive curves of the bumper and the round headlight that seems to look straight into the future.
The technical challenge was translating the language of color into the rigor of graphite. There is no pigment, yet the density of the pencil is carefully studied to convey the depth of the bodywork and the cold brilliance of the chrome. If you look closely at the reflections on the bumper, you will discover a distorted world: tiny human figures and fragments of scenery trapped in the metal, silent witnesses of an America that never ceases to fascinate.
It is a tribute to the American Dream, where industrial design became art. A piece created for those who don’t see just a vintage car in a Chevy, but a piece of history that continues to shine, reflection after reflection.
